Prepare for World Conquest: Palak
Highlighting the government's long-term policy of creating a conducive environment for business rather than business, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, "By creating a conducive environment through long-term planning, our labor-dependent economy has been transformed into an industry, service and technology dependent."
He further said that the government has set up call centers of 20 ministries including call centers like 999; 333; 16263, 109, 106. These are done through BASIS member organizations. Mr. Sajeeb Wazed Joy fixed 306 tasks for ICT policy. Which showed a roadmap of where, when, and how to reach the goal. As a result, in the private sector today; 65,000 jobs have been created in BPO sector. The membership of BASIS has increased and created millions of jobs. In just 7 years, 3 lakh people have been employed in e-commerce.
The minister said this while addressing a panel discussion on the role of ICT sector in Smart Bangladesh on Sunday night. At that time, Mostafa Jabbar suggested setting up a center for all the organizations in the information technology sector.
Responding to a question from the presenter, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that the State Minister for ICT did not agree with the announcement of tax exemption in IT sector till 2030 as a policy demand of other organizations in the IT sector including BASIS.
Highlighting the strong position of the ICT department in extending the corporate tax levy facility in the technology sector as ITES from 2024 to 2030, the state minister said, "We, the ICT department and the tradebodies are talking in the same language on this issue." Mr. Sajeeb Wazed Joy Bhai, Architect of Digital Bangladesh has created this environment. The government is working as a client of IT companies in the country.
Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given protection to Made in Bangladesh and products made in Bangladesh even in this year's budget. The panel discussion was organized by BASIS and conducted by BASIS Vice President Abu Dawood Khan. Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mostafa Jabbar was the chief guest at the meeting. Among others, State Minister for Power Nasrul Hamid Bipu, VC of Asian University for Women Dr. Rubana Haque and Mustafa Rafiqul Islam Duke, Managing Director of Flora Telecom Limited spoke on the event.
